I just found out about the second seminar! I'll certainly try to be there, there is always more I can do to work on my ChucKing technique... Thanks for mentioning it.

And yes, come check out to hangar. I can't be there next week but will be there the week after (and try to attend as often as I can).

Btw, there is also a chuck workshop with eduard aylon coming soon in hangar. I've signed up for that too, as I've recently started again to =>. Will you be there?

Best!

hey graham!

that's a really interesting question... They share a lot of things, including a similar api (which makes for a good transition) and target audience, much of the things that you can do in one you can do in the other with similar ease...

But really, as soon as I've started thinking I've seen pragmatic implications (that, in my opinion, do make a difference) at several different levels:

- the underlying platform (java vs c++)
- the status of the development (near 1.0 vs just launched)
- the approach (integrated IDE vs light glue api)
-...

In fact I'd like to take some time to ellaborate (maybe on a different post, as I think it's an interesting topic to discuss). I use both often and think other people do too, so I can comment on the reasons that make me open one or the other for a particular task.

Anyway, to give a superfast, dumb answer I'd say: If you're going to need web output, go for processing; if you're going to deal with video, go for openframeworks.

will be back with more :)

Jesus,

How would you contrast processing and openFrameworks in terms of pragmatics? Are there aspects that make a big difference?

Hangar is such a cool place. Thanks for posting this. I'd love to check it out soon, perhaps the week after next.
